Art in the Anthropocene
What is art in the anthropocene? Corrina Goutos launches an exclusive product at THE INTERNET SHOP: The USB shell. Corrina is an artist and goldsmith, creating future artifacts from post-consumer objects. She has coined the term Anthrosmithing for her practice, and questions modern value systems in a time where reassessment is more urgent than ever.
© Art in the AnthropoceneWorking to breakdown the hierarchy of man and material, Goutos interdisciplinary practice is considerate to the political ecology of human and non-human materials. Here beloved and forgotten objects mingle and co-create, be it by the agency of the artist or by nature herself. Goutos celebrates our intimate relationship with such vibrant matter by contextualizing it on the body that it may continue to fulfill our instinctual human desire to archive our very transient human experience on earth.
